“ Hands down the best Ghanaian restaurant in east London. Food portions were great . The food was was flavoursome, I would highly recommend the sharing platter if you’re going with a group of people. Thank you to Emmanuel for making our dining experience awesome. ”
“ A huge thank you to Kate’s Cafe for hosting our group of 15 on the evening of Friday, March 7th, 2025. The restaurant was incredibly busy, yet the staff served us with warmth and efficiency. It was clear that both dine-in guests and those ordering takeout were just as happy with their experience. The food portions were generous, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious — fantastic value for money. I can now see why they were so busy! Our entire group was so impressed that we gave the staff a round of applause and left a well-deserved tip before heading out. We’ve all agreed that we’ll be back with friends and family. It worth saying I’ve been a few times in 2022 & 2023 and always had a fantastic time but as it had been a while I was unsure of what to expect. I was extremely impressed! Please keep up the amazing work! I shared my positive experience on social media, and many people confirmed that Kate’s Cafe is considered the top spot in London for Ghanaian cuisine — a reputation they clearly live up to. Even when some of us changed our orders or added extras like a boiled egg at the last minute, the staff remained incredibly patient and accommodating. They also took special care with those in our group who had vegan requirements or allergies, which made everyone feel comfortable and well looked after. 11/10 for everything! No matter how far away they are, I’ll gladly make the journey again. ”
“ A simple, no thrills (apart from the sound system), budget friendly exposure to a taste of Ghana. Great flavour, huge portions, separate hand washing facility for washing hands and live dj with afrobeat. If you don't like music, this is not for you. If you are looking for a pampering service, this is not for you. If you are looking for good food, a full belly, and a party vibe, bring the right crowd, and you are good to go! You order your meal, pay for it, and sit down and wait. No thrills, straightforward. Take away containers are available (and needed) for 50 pence. (You can't be shy of pepper). ”
“ Great flavorful and spicy west African food. Pros: They had lots of different types of west African food really big portions, to be honest one portion conserve between two people at times. Food didn't take too long to prepare and was very attentive even though we had quite a few people at the time (8-9people). There wasn't a safe place to lock up while bikes outside, so the staff member was friendly enough to let her bikes in the bathroom so it didn't get stolen. This was a big plus! Cons: The only thing I can think of is some of the traditional west African drinks was not available even though it wasn't display. Plus you have to pay 50p per container if you want to take the food home, so bring your own Tupperware! ”
